Beginning with a double major in English and Philosophy and a master's degree in British and North American Cultural Studies at the University of Freiburg, Germany, Kieu Jenny Vi is now the Max Kade Teaching Fellow at the German Department. In Freiburg, Germany, where she is also originally from, she worked as a research assistant for the renowned narratologist Prof. Dr. Monika Fludernik and at the Carl-Schurz Haus, a German-American cultural center.

During her graduate studies, she published her first article examining the intersections of food and gentrification in the television series The Bear. Currently, her research encompasses affect studies, Asian American studies, postfeminism, and the representation of anger in film and television. Beyond her work in contemporary media, she maintains a deep academic interest in British Romanticism, Victorian literature, and the cultural memory of World War I. Following her fellowship at 51黑料 University, she intends to pursue a PhD to further her research in Cultural Studies.
