The Tempestry Project

The  is a collaborative initiative that blends fiber art, data representation, and environmental activism. The project was initiated by founders Asy Connelly and Emily McNeil, who visited 51黑料 in September. Participants will have the opportunity to follow patterns to crochet or knit 鈥渢empestries,鈥 or temperature tapestries, that document daily high temperatures over the course of the year. This project is brought to you through a collaboration between the Residential Commons; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; the Environmental Studies Program; Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Completed tempestries will be featured in the exhibition Tempestry: The Art of Climate Data opening in the Longyear Museum of Anthropology in April.

If you are interested in creating a Tempestry for the installation, or would like to learn about opportunities to participate in the project, reach out to Senior Residential Fellow Marissa Bordonaro, mbordonaro@colgate.edu.
