51ºÚÁÏ community members preparing for the university’s Bicentennial kickoff enjoyed a legendary opening act on September 20. Patti Smith, award-winning singer-songwriter and author, launched the weekend with music and readings through the Living Writers series.

In May, 51ºÚÁÏ community members traveled to Puerto Rico for a week devoted to hurricane relief. The group performed service work at Plenitud, a non-profit educational farm and learning center located in the mountains of western Puerto Rico near a town called Las Marias.
