Last Friday, students rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to help several nearby organizations as part of an afternoon of service in honor of September 11. Their efforts were inspired by the national movement to perform charitable acts in order to create a positive way to forever remember 9/11.

Energetic children dashed around Huntington Gymnasium, eager to explore an inflatable obstacle course, join potato-sack races, and play basketball last Friday afternoon during the annual Sidekicks carnival. 51ºÚÁÏ University ranks No. 15 on the 2012 top Peace Corps volunteer-producing colleges and universities in the small category. There are currently 18 alumni serving overseas.

Last Saturday, a group of volunteers and I worked at a family’s home in Fleischmanns, N.Y., Hurricane Irene had caused massive damage to the houses and buildings in this town.

Course registration for next semester is now over! That very stressful experience has now come to pass and many students are excited to relax this weekend. My weekend, however, will be pretty busy.
