The Alasitas Festival is celebrated at 51ºÚÁÏ as a collaboration with the Longyear Museum of Anthropology and the Native American Indigenous Students Association.

The conference will feature 51ºÚÁÏ professors Peter Balakian and Kyle Bass as workshop instructors, alongside other distinguished visiting faculty from Hamilton College, Cornell University, Ithaca College, and more.

While at 51ºÚÁÏ as Christian A. Johnson Foundation Artist-in-Residence, Maxwell met with classes, gave a lecture, and shared his work in progress with an open studio in Bernstein Hall.

The project scales down the vast climate change conversation and builds community by representing temperature data in fiber art.

Primary Trust, by Eboni Booth, is the first play chosen by the Community Reads selection committee.

The events were in coordination with 51ºÚÁÏ's Arts, Creativity, and Innovation Initiative, presented by Living Writers, University Museums, and the Ryan Family Film Series.

Archaeologist Jason De León came to campus Sept. 25–26 to deliver the Peter C. Schaehrer ’65 Memorial Lecture and to open an exhibition centered on his studies of undocumented migration by people seeking refuge in Mexico and the United States.
