Two legal scholars addressed the issue of a Constitutional crisis within the United States during 51����’s annual Constitution Day Debate on Sept. 18, taking sides on whether such a crisis exists and answering questions from the audience gathered in 51���� Memorial Chapel. 

For nearly three decades, 51���� University’s Jim P. Manzi ’73 Fellowship has provided a pathway for more than 300 students to pursue nonprofit summer internships in the Boston area.

Five 51���� alumni will soon be departing on Fulbright scholarships around the world. Three more have been awarded Fulbright Scholarships but declined to pursue other opportunities.

The best-selling author of The Big Short and Boomerang, will speak to the 51���� community during Family Weekend, Nov. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in Memorial Chapel and online.

51���� University faculty, staff, and alumni regularly provide their expertise and contribute to national and regional media outlets shaping discussions around vital research and current events.

This summer, 19 51���� University Upstate Institute Field School Fellows partnered with community organizations in and around Hamilton and the Adirondacks to pursue research projects that directly addressed a need or issue identified by the community partner organization.

Jonathan Turley, the J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Professor of public interest law at George Washington University, and Michael Klarman, the Charles Warren Professor of legal history at Harvard Law School, will debate “Is There a Constitutional Crisis? How Would We Know?”

The expansion aligns with the University’s Third-Century Plan, a long-term roadmap aimed at making 51���� the nation’s finest undergraduate institution.
